My word of mouth is from the designer of the subs.

I hate to say it, but even if you really do talk to DJ he does not design the subs. That is just a rumor. He is a great guy that had a great vision, but he does not do any designing.

Difference is; your post was subjective, mine was objective (non-debatable). Also why you dont design my enclosures, Im not clouded by stigma or word of mouth.

I would say go to smaller enclosure then your 6ft3 idea. I would drop down to around 4.5 or 5 max and do around 72-80in2 of port area and tune around 32-33 hz

This is just a rough idea of what to do, but that will be about what you would be the most happiest with I would bet.

and to those who have offered to design a box, i appreciate it, but i can do all of the figuring for an aero box, and Phoenix will design it if i choose to go the slot route.

and other than already having a 30hz box at my disposal, the reason i want to tune so low is bc i love

Can i get a reason why DDs should be tuned higher and do they still extend below tuning to what i want out of it?

It is just an overall "sweet spot" for those drivers. Each application is different of course.

They can get low for sure, the DD scion is proof of that. It has a M4 on a 18" Z and it is clean, clear, and loud.....but not cheap haha. The full size chevy with 4 2510s and 2 M2s gets hella low too.
