DD 9500 vs RE AUDIO XXX

There not even in the same league. The RE is all Chinese parts and is living off the name of its predecesors (predecesors that where much higher quality). Just to give you an idea of how overpriced it is, the SSA Xcon is half the price yet it has USA voicecoil/motor, is fully assembled in house, and is the superior sub overall (all while being half the price)

DD9500 uses all american parts (minus the basket) and is a heavily researched product (it's a top tier subwoofer).

In regards to wattage, the subs power handeling will be determined by your electrical upgrades (aftermarket alternator, agm battery, big 3 upgrade ). Your electrical upgrades will determine how much power you can physically produce

I think I will get DD. Regarding the upgrades, could you explain me better these 3 points?

Is the aftermarket alternator a better alternator than the normal one? Because I didn't change it.

I have two batteries, the first is the one which was in the car and I think it's about 60 mAh, plus I have an additional battery in the boot "Northstar nsb 100 ft".

What is the big 3 upgrade? An upgrade of the cables? Because the cables that I have are quite big.

Another thing, the amplifiers give a wattage at 12v and another one at 14,4v. How can I make sure to use the amplifier always at 14,4v?

Use the search tool for big 3. You will find a ton of information and it will help you learn what to do.

You can make sure your amp gets 14.4v by upgrading your alternator.

Batteries store a power, your alternator makes power.

Your batteries store power up to around 12.8v

Your alternator makes power in the range of 13.8-14.8v depending on your vehicle.

You can get aftermarket alternators that make more current then your stock alternator does.

An example would be keep your stock alternator which is probably around 80 amps, you could use an amp that will push 800watts.

if you upgrade to a 220A alternator you could run 2200watts.

This is just an example to give you an idea of how large your alternator needs to be to stay at 14.4v

How many watts are you looking for?

I have a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 limited edition (2011).

Regarding the watts, that's why I asked how many watts can DD 9515 handle for daily driving.

I am looking for something really loud, so maybe 3k? Or more?

Your vaxhall looks about the same size as my Chevy sprint hatchback. I'm running the xxx18 2010 overhung coil. Sounds amazing in the small car. Before any audible distortion the volume gets to a level I can barely stand. I love it but the weight of the sub in a sealed 6ft box is too much so looking to go smaller. I went with two 140 amp alternators on a 2400 watt old school Orion amp. One 75ah battery and 4 13ah batteries. Voltage meter barely budges.

Maybe you misread what he was trying to tell you.
The problem isn't how many watts can the DD9515 handle, the problem is how many watts can your car physically produce ? (No point in buying a 3000 watt amplifier if your can cannot physically produce even a 1000 watts).

The power your asking for is going to be hard and expensive to get

Depends on goals, and the model of the sub.

For daily listening or sound quality, an '05 model XXX with the coil it was designed to use would be awesome. But there's the problem - finding one. I do know where a motor is, but soft parts and the OEM coil won't be as easy to find.

For being loud, 9500 hands down.

i think you should prbably stick around a while.

my recommendation is honestly

upgrade your alternator, and upgrade your engine block ground and get 1/0 for the alt to battery and reground the battery with ATLEAST 1/0.

that will definitally give you alot more current capibility.

next step would be to figure out how much space you have and money you want to spend. not that i dont like DD but thats alot of money to drop on a woofer that you might not beale to power properly.

OLE soundrive can get you a killler woofer for much cheaper that will be VERY loud with 1500-2500 and it will take even more for proably about1/2 of the 9500s cost.. it you can afford the DD BY ALL MEANS they are excellent woofers.

dont skimp on a cheap amp. usually the higherend amps not only sound better but are more efficient as well.
