Sundown E-10 vs SA-10 in Ram underseat box?

I am about 3/4 done building an underseat fiberglass box for my Ram 1500. As close as I can calculate, I'm sitting at about .8 CF per side, or 1.6 CF total. I have a RF 1200 class D that I plan on running at 1ohm. I've decided I want to give Sundown a chance, and I have 2 questions.

1. Given the box and the amp, would your recommend the e-10's or SA-10's, and how big of a difference are there between the two, given the box and amp stays the same?

2. Does anyone have experience with shared space in a sealed box? I've been told to keep this one open with no divider, and I'll get better sound.......I have never tried it, and I'm curious/worried. Opinions?

This system is going in my hunting/fishing/spare truck that my daughter will be driving for a while until she gets her new rig for her 16th Bday, so I want something that thumps, but also sounds good.

Thanks guys!

Yeah SA subs are pretty deep to try and fit under a truck seat. Even then I would lean a bit towards the e series on that power in a spare truck, not to mention you will save a bit of coin. You can't really go wrong with either though. The SA is a stout little beast though. I had a 10" using a sealed box in my F250 and really enjoyed it. I wish I had built a ported box for it in retrospect...

The box will allow 7.5" roughly with anything 6" diameter and smaller. That's shrinks as the magnet diameter gets bigger, because the side of the fiberglass enclosure are sloped. It will be closer to 6-6.5" with a 7" diameter.......anyone know the magnet diameter on those?

I actually did not like my SA 12s..I tried about 7 different custom boxes, and still didnt like them..They got down, but the HDS212s really got down and sounded pretty clean.I was really happy with them

Always wanted to try those C2 subs, but never could get a hold of one when I had the funds

Is the box sealed ? I'd prefer an SD-3 series in a sealed box -- hands down. Both the SA and E series really like a ported box.

That being said -- your volume is enough for SD-3 12s if they'll fit on the mounting face.

Objectively -- this means you prefer a boomier sound (much higher Qts and likely a steeper CMS curve) & a higher Le induced distortion (higher static Le + no shorting treatment).

Which is all well and good if it's your preference. It's not a terribly uncommon preference.

I've been out of the audio game for a while,(I had to go adulting for a few years). I'd never even heard of SoundQuebed...... I didn't see the sealed box specs listed....but I do like the price,lol....time to do some research

Oh, and thanks for the info Jacob.....obviously you know something about the sd-3's,lol, so they have moved to the top now!
Any opinion on the shared space in a sealed box?
Your box is plenty of volume for a pair of SD-3 12s -- it's actually a bit too big for the 10s. If you need to run the 10s you would need to take up some internal box volume =)

I just called an got the magnet diameter, and mounting specs from your support department, and also got talked into an x-10 for my daughters Tacoma when she gets it. Now I just need to measure the box and make sure they fit. Thanks for the info, and kudos for an awesome support department!
