i installed hdc 's in my boys car a pair . off a gp3000 pro ground pounder

and i run dd 9515g

the dd sound better

the dd get louder

but not much louder , and don't sound much better ( though still better )

it comes down to money the extra money either spend or saved , brings the slightly better, or a tad inferior result

if i was in your shoes my wallet would dictate buying the less expensive route

the 9500 is not the same woofer as hdc3... the 3500 are better daily drivers, the aqs are a bit louder when tweaked but not buy much... i would grab a rd audio d5 fot a pair of 3515s. ideally a clean 2500 per 3515... sell the 2200 and get a 5kw...

i would vote for the dd. iam running a 3510 on 2k in my truck and have a friend that is running an hdc in a ranger with more power then me(saz-3000). he just ordered a 3512 to replace his aq. imo the hdc sounded really good to me and got quite loud but my 3510 was a tad louder.

i guess its all in your personal tastes and prefrences.

Obviously they arent the exact same driver, but are very similar to the 9500s. The hdcs yeld very similar results to the 9500s. With that said, obviously the dd is a little better. The hdc is hands down more capable output wise than the 3500.

I believe that the motor on the 9500 is a little bigger than the hdc3 motor. But yeah, the hdc3 should walk all over the 3500 series.

Why don't you just give the 3500's more power. I'm sure they can handle more than 1k a piece.

Need some help peoples... I currently have 2 DD 3515 with an AQ 2200. As always, I need more... I have a bed cut so space is not an obsticle. Question: 4 New AQ HDC315's for a grand or add 2 3515's. Cant remember how much the 3515's run, but my current ones have the 8 inch cf dust cap. Just got the AQ amp and love it. Wondering how their subs compare to something like I have. Any input????

Why not get another 2200D or put a 3500D on what you got now?

the hdc won't walk all over the 3500 actually the 3500 is a tad louder with 3k for burps.. the hd and 95 pull away after that.. it more so depends on the setup and car... the 3500s sound better as well..

like i said 3500 for daily hdc for spl...
