LOL now not to ruffle feathers or anything and I know that SMD has huge following of nuthuggers and haters, but is the DD-1 that bad?

The AA SMD subs look pretty freaking stout and it seems the only bad things about them are the price and his initials. Also, he may not show up in the lanes but his cars are loud and the installs are top notch.

I really could care less about his name, I just don't want to waste my money.

Get the dd1 it works and has better resell value Then a oscope also a oscope is useless if you don't know how to use and or read it and if you only need to set the gain a oscope will be a waist of money

That's why people hate. They are not doing what he is doing getting paid for it. He does get defensive quick but don't we all. His is just more public

Dd-1 will out do any scope plus it comes from Steve himself and he knows his stuff what is there not to like...

Scopes are only good for setting your high pass filter

IMO if you can't hear distortion it's fine. If you think you're clipping your amps you need bigger amps, and if you really want to set gains and volume level for max SPL an SPL meter is a more useful tool.

It is absurd to think that testing for "distortion" which has never been explained at 3 or 4 frequencies somehow makes everyhting magic for every other frequency in the spectrum when your amps won't see the same impedence at more than 2 frequencies and all music is recorded at different levels.
