DC power alternator or Mechman

Nice!
If only Robbie had time to write up a book about his alternators.

folks this is a personal reference for yall to see what a personal grudge againt a company/person. and riding nuts at the same time

this is interesting. I just bought a mechman alt, never even heard of DC.

They look nice, but I suppose it's too late for me to have a choice 0.o

Either way, it seems like opinions are slightly in favor of the DC alts.

I'm not counting that one dude TnT Sounds in that tally either since he's either a DC alt fanboy or perhaps even an employee.

He was answering simple questions on different forums. Because he wants to show customers that he is there to answer any question.

Robbie could of answered this question too.

This^^

And I don't even run a mech man alt. I have done my homework though.
thanks just point out facts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

so someone thats not even interested in both, just know about both and studied them...which would you pick?

I wish mechman would answer my emails. I have sent a bunch of emails asking for quotes and also posted on his forum sections and pmed him but he has not sent anything back to me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

My friend has a mechman alt in his TC and it is doing well for him. I will have to contact DC though because I cannot get a quote from mechman.

he has been very busy with a HUGE order lately, shoot me a PM with your vehicle info etc we'll see what we canset up

And I completely agree.
Alt companies can get such nasty reps form people that have no idea on what they are doing.

Alternators are the most abused peace of equipment on a car with a system. Just because you have a 300amp alt doesn't mean you don't have to run as many batts. And even if you do have a large bank inline with a HO alt you can still drain your battery bank. That's how alot of kids damage their alternators. They don't keep a eye on their voltage and they drain their banks. then they are running purely off of their alt. And no alt is designed to take that abuse. Some may last longer then others. But it's a 100% guarantee for a alternator failure.

My best advice is to keep a eye on your voltage. If you notice In between songs your voltage doesn't return to 14+v give your alt time to recharge your batts.

well put, also people with large banks should keep their batts fully charged before startin your car and blasting your system, i forget how many amps it takes to keep a powermaster D3100 fully charged

is this DC power or DC interlinc??

anyone know the price of a alt from either 3 companies for a alt for a 2001 F-150 5.4L

i don't know why you getting on tnt for riding DC nuts when your riding on mechmans nuts. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

people on my team have ran dc,mechman,ea, and meangreen. they all have there share of problems. meangreen being the worst.

hmmmmm.....

I think the 50/50 OR Hit or Miss with Alts is correct.... People have stated within the last year there problems with EA alts and what not.... I purchased an EA alt 3 years ago, 300 amp unit with ext reg.... and it pulls 305 amps and does 12-20 volts, I wish the idle voltage was a wee bit better... but eh.......... And not a single problem....

I have heard a LOT of great things about mechman.

x2. Also that regulator looks nothing like mine as I'm not ext regulated. I do know that doesn't look nothing like DC's though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

And calling everyone running mechman to hear their opinions is dumb. If that's the case then DC better start whippin out the books of articles about them with their equipment in show stopping vehicles. Top NBA players and NFL players etc... Did anyone not go to CES last year and see DC's hummer?

And to the guy saying I'm a "fan boy" or an employee. That made me laugh. I only wish I was half as smart as those guys to work with them. Call it a fan boy, nut hugging, whatever you want. I've ran both companies and I know first hand what has held up and outperformed and what hasn't.

I say since DC is rough to get a hold of at times since its only 3 guys and maybe 2 at times in the shop, that if you are buying an alt on who will pick up the phone then get a mechman. Although DC's main contact line for the shop someone answer any given time during business hours. People only call Robbie direct and half the time he don't answer. That would make me upset too. But I've never needed to make an urgent call about any problems on any of the 3 alternators I've had to mess with. They work and never quit.

I saw some say they will go with whatever is cheaper.

That's the most rhetorical thing I've ever heard. Why would go cheap on the most vital piece of equipment in your system? You better look on ebay then as you seem to be a cheap-skate.
