DC level 5 18, Powerbass XTA5000.1 in small trunk car BUILD!

He does not have any on the trunk lid and expanding foam works great but when you get over 150 the trunk might not flex but everything else on the car will lol.

Anything on my car can flex , EXCEPT THE TRUNK ! lol. . . Trunk rattle is very distinct and extremely annoying. Also not very attractive.. And yea, Im in the process of finding everything I want for this install and Im thinking about getting a stetsom 7kd, so I should be able to give each of my XXX's about 4000 wrms... Probably throw in 6 deka 9a31's and my iraggi 260 amp alt.... Not familiar with powerbass amps, but how do you find that amp?

i got the amp from a friend. there awesome amps.

update. put my MLA on tonight and tuned my amp some. it gets alot louder now and is closer to a 150 at 1.4 ohms. got some good advise from a friend to get a 150 with it at 1.4 so when i wire it down to .35 ill be set for good numbers.

also the voltage stays about 15.2 and on music its about 14.7-14.9 full tilt at 2k RPM so im pretty excited that the MLA is doing perfect.

Congrats heath on the upgrade what's that saying my loss is your gain that thing sounded 10x better than before and I am not going 2 say what you changed out yet but you better hurry with the pics or I will I will give this hint it weighs over a 100 pounds lol

WELL ILL JUST GO AHEAD AND SAY IT. I GOT A LEVEL 6 18 TODAY. 106 LBS OF AWESOMENESS! ITS ALREADY LOUDER THAN MY LEVEL 5 AND ITS BRAND NEW NEVER SEEN POWER. GETS LOUDER AND SOUNDS CLEANER DOING IT. DUAL .8 COILS SO TOMMOROW ILL PROBLY METER IT AT .4 AND SEE WHAT SHE DOES.

ok just some random and small test really. and remember i have a trunk car so the numbers arent great....

 

Power was from a powerbass 5k on 200 amp alternator, 3 batteries and a MLA, voltage is around 15.4 at idle.

 

DC level 5 18 burp @ 1.4 ohms (~2500 watts) = 147.3 @ 53 HTZ

DC Level 6 18 burp @ 1.6 ohms (~2400 watts)= 148.1 @ 52 HTZ

 

DC Level 5 18 burp @ .35 ohms (~73xx watts) = 151.6 @ 53 HTZ

DC Level 6 18 burp @ .4 ohms (~73xx watts) = 152.5 @ 52 HTZ

 

DC Level 5 18 bassrace @ .35 ohms = did not test

DC Level 6 18 bassrace @ .4 ohms = 151.1 on lil john push that *****

 

 

overall the level 6 is an amazing sub and sounds way better, louder, cleaner than the already amazing level 5.
