DB-R electronics sucks

How can a amp be doing less than normal output but still be working fine? What does less than normal output mean? could be 1-200 watts or more like 500-600 watts.
That's what i'm saying,to the dumba$$es on here, that acceptable and nothing was wrong with the amp.

Wondering why this was not stated before the amp was bought, and if it's the Op's fault the amp blew why didn't DB-R state that in the email. Doesn't say anything about blown fets or any user error. Gonna have to side with the Op on that, although you could have worded this thread title more properly.

I agree my wording of the thread was a bit harsh, but db-r basically said i caused him problems, when i was nice as hell, and he caused me the problems.

Ronin is a pretty good guy, I don't think he would start something just because. I bought an amp from him in the past and everything went smoothly amp works great BTW.. he was even understanding about a paypal problem I had at the time.

I guess I'll take sides with the OP on this for the most part. Chris (DB-r) is a arrogant prick who if he shit on a plate would hand it to you and insist it didn't smell at all. And that if there was a fragrance coming from the plate that it was pleasant and as good as it gets.

WOW! I didn't even know this thread was here, guess I was too busy working at the time to check here so it slipped through the cracks...

Yes, admittedly I am not the easiest guy to deal with, I am an *******, but I do good work and will continue to do so, however I may have to get a customer service representative or something to deal with customers because as Jacob said I can be a little rough around the edges, and handle people a little rough.... Sorry, I'm only human, not perfect.

The amp was resold to someone shortly after and haven't heard back from them so I guess it's all good. I think the amp drew too much juice for his electrical which is what caused all the problems he had. I only found a little jumper wire on the input board that wasn't soldered real good that caused the output to be a little lower than normal, which would not have caused all the problems he described. I took the amp out of the box expecting it to be all fubar'd up and frankly was pretty upset when it worked nearly 100% correctly with only a minor volume issue. So I didn't know the guy real well, and thought he might try to scam me so I told him not to buy from me again because I didn't want to put up with all the whining and refunding and all that mess again. When people buy a refurbed amp from us and they have a problem, they are simply supposed to send it back to be fixed under warranty, not whine, *****, ask for refunds etc.... At least that's the way i see it, I know the customer is important, and we want to make them happy, but we have to draw a line somewhere, every company does, you can't make everyone happy, not possible. I apologize for telling him not to buy again, as it probably would have turned out fine the second time around, but at the time I was a little flustered with the whole situation with him and like I said I am only human and not the best CS person to deal with....

not to sound like a dick but i dont think the sae1200 was pulling to much on his electrical...if it was id assume something was wrong with the amp...

also a small volume problem wouldnt cause the amp to blow his sub and his friends subwoofer.

120 amp alternator and 1 battery vs SAE-1200D, which can pull up to beyond the fuse rating in the amp as Jacob has stated before he could get like 1770 watts from the thing gain wide open and it would blow the 5 30 amp fuses in the amp (150 amperes) trying to put out even more power beyond the fusing, yeah, it could have been too much of a strain on his electrical, especially if his battery wasn't up to par, the alternator would not be able to keep up, the alternator is probably rated at 120 amps cold but probably de-rates to around 70 amperes warmed up, as most alternators do de-rate quite a bit once they are warm.

Kind of goes with the territory imo. People can hardly ever admit to it being "their fault" when they screw something up. Yeah you maybe rough around the edges but who isn't when they deal with a huge costumer base in retail/repair industry. I doubt you have always been this way as I know were you are coming from after owning my own .com selling new and used videogames.

At first you are overly nice and willing to help everyone, Then you get the fckhead costumer that will not listen to reason and just makes it hard to deal with, These turd costumers keep coming and coming and making your nice level drop every time to the point were you just don't care how abrasive you are to anyone anymore.

Especially with amplifiers EVERYONE thinks they are a pro at hooking these things up and can rarely admit to messing up when they toast an amp or have no clue what the hell they are doing.

We all say things in the heat of the moment that can come back later to bite us in the *** but like you said you do good work and that is what people will remember in the long run not a thread that got blown out of proportion like most do here.

This situation here got all messed up, And it looks like it was taken care of.

i remember him saying he got that kinda power running it at half ohm and it kept blowing fuses since it wasnt half ohm stable. i dnt see that amp being too much for anyone one here. there are guys running this amp with stock electrical and while they may have voltage drops they havent had the same problems this guy did. just doesnt make sense to me.

Not sure why you are so concered with this, The op got his money back and DB-r came here after finding this thread and apologized and admited a mistake, Why drag it out more?

Yeah, I know what you are saying, the nice level drops and drops over time, mine has too, but honestly I have always been this way, in real life I don't play well with others (I'm that guy....) and started out that way.... I just do, and do well, and will continue to do so. I may need to get a CS rep. My helper here at the shop is WAAAAAAAY worse than I am so that is out of the question. My wife is kinda like I am, so that won't work.... Maybe one day I'll come across someone who can do CS well for us. A real "people person".... That's just not me....
