DB loss from flex

Ok. Clamped the amp tonight with brand new meters, 1 ohm rising to 2.93 at 738 watts. Seems super low to me. Maybe that's why I'm not seeing a higher number.
I'm scratching my head cause it seems super low wattage , it's rated 1200 @4 12.5

This weekend I'm pulling everything out, I'm going to double check everything over. Only thing I can think is my ground could be dirty or possibly came loose ? My one friend said he clamped 1800 but his one meter was acting up the other day so I can't go by that 100%
I was just having a discussion this weekend with a guy about Brazilian amps. The general flow was that Brazilians all use line drivers or really high voltage pre-outs. Do NOT be afraid of the gain knob on a Brazilian amp if you're not getting the voltage out of it that you should be.

Even with the impedance of 3 ohm at peak you should be up higher than 142 IMO (assuming that is indeed your peak... if not you may have a few more dB somewhere else?) I still think the box is the likely culprit.

I did some searching last night, found people doing clamps on them. Some were right around rated & some were under.

On a 45hz tone it did 144.9 yesterday. going to clamp my CT 2200 today and see what that's putting out. I don't have a line driver installed. I thought they didn't like to much input voltage ?

That's almost 3dB so that's a pretty big gain.

"not liking high input voltage" as far as putting them on a 16V electrical system is true (with the exception of the models that are designed to run at 18V) input as far as the audio signal higher is virtually always better.

Yeah after my friend played with the amp a little bit & I moved the box back about 4 inches closer to the hatch. I mean for how loud the system is I can believe it's like 800 watts.

No I thought people were saying they didn't like to high of input voltage. My HU is 5 volts, I know some older eclipse's were like 10 or 12 volts. I know they don't like high voltage from what I've read.

I have all the tones we clamped at, one was 4+ ohm after rise. So I'm def thinking what you said how the box is probably one of the issues.

Lol it is a big deal. U prly just need a new box and not a new amp or woofer.
Possibly. You are probably right. Promise I'll put a pic up later. I totally forgot last night after putting door panels and everything else back on.

dude all problems could have been solved with a new box, now you are jumping to different subs and amps? You could very well be undergaining the amp too. If it still gets louder without changing tone in bass then you got a lot more to go. If it stops getting louder, then you need to back it off a little bit.

I promise you the amp is set properly.

No I'm not jumping to a new setup. Was going to few weeks ago, I had my new subs and everything. Was working with Chris on box designs and everything. Unexpected home repair come up last minute and sold my new subs to help off set new HVAC cost. This is why the 21 was even put back in my escape. I appreciate everyone's input. I've had a expensive month with everything going wrong or breaking. No audio wise haha.
