Heard some horrible rattling testing and tuning it today. First day getting down on it and it cracked the vinyl right away. It isn’t the absolute loudest subwoofer ever, but it digs down low and sounds good. It’s loud enough for what it is though. It’s only a single 800 watt 10 so it can’t be expected to hit 150 dB in a music box.

That crack is right where the port is. About 4 inches away from it. Testing it in free air with a port this large it seems like it definitely needs a loading wall for the port. I will likely just deaden right on the outside of the panel at this point. I already have it layered inside.

The 800 watt rms rating seems to be fairly exact. It will not handle much more than 800 rms, at least ported. I was hoping to get 1000 watts on it, but it’s too much. She starts to do the death rattle from about 37-42 hz if you power it with more than 800.

Tuning as low as PE suggests will problematic (long port) unless you go with a passive radiator.
