well i got some more work done on the drivers door.

i have one problem now.

the map pocket in the door, i am trying to leave what i can of this pocket for some space but trying to seal off one end of this is becoming annoying.

it is hard to explain without pics and the camera usb cable is in my parents room //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i wont get anything done tomorrow because i have to work then i am going to see clerks 2

hopefully sunday i will be finished building the drivers door, then i can prep it for paint.

Cant beleive I just saw this thread. They sounded very respectful when I brought over the RTA last week. I agree that a smaller midrange in the kicks will be the best way to go, but if you have room for the 8's Id do it. Makes me think about taking the extremis out and trying out a pair fo these. No cutting for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i hate you bishes with all room in your doors //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

i could almost fit a 3" deep driver without cutting the panels.

and these were 3.5" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

i thought very seriously about the 10" version.......

but those would require some serious modification to panel and sheetmetal so that got tossed.

now i just need to find some time to sit down and work on these.

i have done most of my work after work (about 1:30-3:00 am //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif ) so i cant use the electric sander //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

i am seriously thinking about just covering off the map pocket and saying f**k it

since i am not really sure how i can go about sealing it off and making it look good.

but i guess i will find out soon enough.

me too:crap:

I saw the car with only 1 installed, and thought NO WAY. Those pics hold true, those dayton 8's are HUGE. I thought from a 6.5 to 8, 1.5 inches, not THAT big of a deal, WRONG. Great job so far, and I HEAR it's coming along nicely after being tuned.

Great call on the RS drivers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif The RS52 or DIYMA dome midrange will fill that in nicely with a bit of tinkering...

1.5khz sounds like a good compromise in this situation... 1.2khz would lend you better SQ for the 8" but the tweeter will crap out at higher volume... Sounds like the world needs a tweeter that can play down to 1khz... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

1.8-2khz will... sound very muddy on that 8"

I hope you are going with at least 4th order xovers? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I still need to make pods for my RS tweeters //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I need to work on my fiberglassing skills...

I tooled around with the 10" version of those...holy GOD the bass response was retarded good. So tight and precise, I didn't even use a sub for awhile. Sold 'em though for a profit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i am using a coustic xm-5e it uses an 18db slope

i will be running the frontstage off the coustic and that limits my mids to 400hz. or i could x-over my tweets from my deck and use the coustic for both mids, maybe...

and i didnt get a chance today to get the pics off the camera and my parents are asleep again so i will have the pics tomorrow for sure.

and the red stuff in the first pic is "fusor #114" plastic repair/adhesive.

it seems to work very well but cost $28 for a single tube (5 or 6 oz.)

a little expensive but i had to have something.
