Daily SPL Drivers...

What do u guys think about the IA DP's or the DD 9515...or anyother SPL-based drivers u guys can think of...For the people that have/had/listened to either of these...how do u like them...and what did u pay for them?

I like the 9515 there a good woofer and dependable but you have to give them a lot of power, but if you can give it to it then you'll be one happy camper.

Im going with two Treo SSX 15.22's, Ill let yall know how they sound after i finish my new project of fiberglassing my entire trunk for those things, struggling to find space for my amps. They cost a lil bit but I can deal with it. Id throw in the SXs too, and the DD 3500 series. Both can take lots of power for bups, and can still sound very good daily.

yea, the SX and 35's would be great daily\spl woofers. so would the DP's

mojo, mmats dreadnaught, pg ti 12d elite, pioneer ts 5000spl, cerwin vega stroker, ect. I could go on for days.

The terms SPL drivers and daily listening should not go together. For example, a DD 9500 is an awesome SPL driver, but it makes for a very lackluster performer for listening to music daily.

have you tested the PG Ti Elite? I have been trying to test one for a long time but I dont have the money to buy one

I havent heard the pioneers yet myself, but they do look real impressive. Ive held one, and it was the heaviest sub ive ever picked up, but that means nothing for spl. As for the mojo, and the elite ive heard them both, and they are insane.

Denim I have 2 elites, so yes ive tested them quite a bit. I have 2 tantrum 1200.1s pushing both. The elites need a good 1500watts or more imo to perform the best. 1500-2000 The good thing about these subs is you can replace the cone yourself if you blow it, and you can also buy the spl cone for it if your competiting.

I have two DP 15s running off a memphis mojo amp for my daily setup.. Its tuned @ around 35ish hz. These subs pound like crazy. Lots of low deep bass. It was only running a few dayz and i didnt have enough time to tweak my amp settings and all that so i believe it could have gotten alot louder and sounded alot better. Dont get me wrong, it was insanely loud and sounded decent. But didnt get a chance to actually iron out all the wrinkles. Sub started sounding weird and bass started cutting out on certain bass notes so i shipped my subs back to IA so nick could take a look at them. So thats where they have been at for a while now due to shipping company problems. Anyways, IA DP 15s are a great choice for a spl sub as a daily driver. love mine
