Here is my problem I can get 2 2005 alpine type R for $220 shipped (ebay). The other option is 1 Avalanche 15" for around $240 or $250. I listen to rap and r and b. They will go in ported box tuned to abou 32hrtz. which would give me the most sql in a sedan?

Avalanche!!!! An avalanche can handle twice as much power as both of those Alpines!!! Think about it...even though it is 2 vs. 1 sub, and there is more cone area blah blah blah....Avalanche is a very good sub..

well, that also depends on how much power he has...just because woofer X can handle double the power, unless it's given that, means nothing really. Didn't know an avalanche needed 2k+ watts to get moving, also didn't know that power handling determines how loud a sub gets. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif . I'd prolly say type r. What size type R would you be getting. At that price obviously not 15s.
