DAB help

Hi.
I have an android head unit in my focus 2.5 and want DAB radio. It seems I need a usb dongle and an aerial but I’m adamant I don’t want a windscreen aerial. Are the usb boxes compatible with roof mounted aerials? I can’t seem to find a straight answer to this anywhere (plus I’m a noob when it comes to these things)
