Got some time to work on something for myself finally. I have been doing a lot of "secret work" lately so I've had nothing I can post. This one is a daily driver/ competition box for all 5 of my Type R twelves but still in cargo area and under window line. Basically just trying a new layout and something different. More of a demo box than a burp box, it should be fun to play with and pretty **** loud to boot.
On to the pics...
Top is just set in place to show what it will look like. Port cutouts aren't there yet obviously...
That's my progress so far, more to come tomorrow //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
The triangle ports serve a dual purpose in this case btw...it acts as bracing for both sides, the back and the top as well as looking unique.
Should be interesting to see what you can hit on the meter too.
Yeah, I'm pretty curious too. I'll know soon.
My guess 148.9- 150.9 my guess That is with your one amp on the glass in steves org. It wont fit in any class in drag but ss Maybe n/w If its below the window line just my guess. I still don't like the way you cant re tune the box One day you will figger out that screws are mans best friend. Its for sure going to look purtty. Good Luck with it only time will tell.
I actually forgot that it wont work for street classes in Drag but that's okay I'll either do no wall or pull it out and drop in something smaller for any drag shows.
I thought about a lot of different ways to do the port for this but decided on this. Its so early in the year that I'll be surprised if I don't get bored with this before we even get to a show...lol
I still have a long list of other ideas to try out too, so I guess we'll see how much I like it and go from there.
Dave if i may throw at ya This take the back and sides and go 1.5 then take and mark where the port is going to go. Well the width and height of it and run a dato blade and run it down where the port is going to slide so that you can adj it then all you have to do with the face is add one layer the shape of that port and flair it Then you can add any length peace and you can tune it.
Finished it up today. I like the way the ports came out...looks cool I think.
Did some testing but the amp hates it at .4ohms...couldn't get a full burp without going into protect //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif
Got to 149.1 at 3 clicks away when the amp shutdown. Unfortunately those are the big clicks since its a Kenwood. Didn't matter if I rolled it slow or fast or straight burp...it does play music good though. Nice and clean and pretty **** loud too.
Beautiful box. Is it for SPL or music?

Nate- Thank you. Its tuned high but really geared more for music, I knew it wasn't gonna crush the mic, but figured it would be good for daily and demoing and do okay on the TL if I feel like using it. It middle of winter and boring with no shows so I'm just messing around with some ideas for now
Mark-Thanks man!
