Custom Fiberglass Sub Enclosure PICS!!

ok so i really need sum suggestions, Being a novice still, i orginally cut the circle too big, 1/2 in to big, so I was getting air seepage, anyhow I fixed that problem by creating a separate ring and mounting that ring to the box and keeping sealed with chualkin, anyhow the speaker now sounds amazing but the box looks like poopie. I am going to re-wrap the box I need something that is going to be able to take the curves, i might even mold that outter ring to the flat panel, but i need suggestions as to what to wrap it with. thanks guys

You say your gonna re wrap it. I would pull the ring off you put on. make sure the baffle is completely smooth. Then glue the new ring on. Once the glue is dry take some kitty hair to the edge of the circle. Then sand it smooth. It would make a much better looking transition. And wouldn't look like an afterthought. Then wrap that bastage in some carpet and be done with it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

this

what they all said and while ur at it i would also mold the upper left corner into the back trim better to give it a cleaner look and the top. but its just a suggestion. but kitty hair is ur friend on this one

I would skip the ring and put another face panel on and rewrap the whole thing.....at least it will look flat and clean again.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

ok, so im sorry to be honest, but i have no idea about this cat hair thing, bcuz i dont know what you guys mean, do you mean literal cat hair or fiberglass. i had a thought to cut around that new ring and make a big hole and enter that new ring back flush, and then fiberglass the new circle backing and front to the mdf and then sand.

p.s. i cut a 10'' hole to be begin with cuz i thought all 10'' subs were 10'' holes, well i was wrong lol

I prefer llama hair...

^ i think you and I have the same idea, to better explain it, i would guide the jigsaw around the actual 2nd ring, then from here i would have a big whole, i would then remove that ring from the flat panel (front) and enter that ring into the whole i just cut, now how would I 100% seal that ring to the hole?

I would put the new ring over top of the too large hole then just feather the edges wit the bondo hair. It would be a lot stronger //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

so your saying strip the carpet and mold the ring to the front of the box?

not to get off subject here, but i need suggestions for re-wraping the box.
