Custom Fiberglass Sub Enclosure PICS!!

Yep, I wouldn't bother trying to cut and replace a large disk in the middle of your baffle. It's gonna be a weak spot no matter how much bracing you add doing it that way.

What do you mean re wrapping ? re carpeting, or rewrapping with fleece ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well basically im going to be wrapping the whole box, but the carpet i used bends but almost represents cardboard in the fact that it wont bend to much, which lead me to have to cut the carpet often, i want something that bends well, or do you recommand laying such a foam on the curves, then rpoceeding to wrap it in the carpet. so, then you all think i should bold that ring to the actual box then go from there, bcuz whatever you all say is what ill do, cuz I have trust. Im very good with fiberglass and bondo, so its not a problem.

ok so heres the deal, the red part is where the ring will be molded to the front box, and the yellow linges represent wood that will be attached to the box to make it look part of the trunk. opnions please

Now you got the idea. If you really want to make an exact fit. You could pull the weather stripping, stretch the fleece from the front of the enclosure over the lip that the weatherstripping attaches to. Then put the weatherstripping back on to hold the fleece in place. Slather the weather stripping with a heavy coat of Vaseline. and resin it. Picture perfect fit, that looks factory //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I see what you mean with the fleece, but do you think I should use wood instead, since it will make a cleaner look when the carpet is glued to it, plus all that resin in my trunk concerns me, anyhow I have an idea to put a fleece from the front of the box over the ring, so i can get that same mold from the front of the back to the 2nd ring, does this seem like a good idea?

Still a little rough on that one side. But definately a chit load better than before //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

eh, yea nothing i can do, but its an improvement, thanks though.

maybe ill stick sum more padding under it.

I agree it does look a little rough in that one area, but hey carpet has its own mind.Much much better than before, good work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
