Current events discussion

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it," is the phrase.

The right sure is quick to foget the past. Or maybe they choose to ignore it?

Let's try trickle-down yet again, even though it failed all the past attempts.
Let's try playing big-shot with tariffs against countries we do business with, even though they called our bluff the last time, and we caved the last time.
Let's vote Republican again, hoping they'll get the economy right THIS time.
Let's vote Republican, hoping they'll reform the healthcare system THIS time.
Let's vote Republican, hoping they won't raise the debt more than the Democrats do.
Let's vote Republican, hoping they'll get immigration and border security right THIS time.
Let's vote Trump, hoping he'll drop the fekking "stolen election" bullsiht THIS time, and focus on moving the country FORWARD.

History seems to repeat itself a lot for the right. And not in a good way.
Maybe someone should bring up the past, and use it when making future-affecting decisions.
I wasn't going for the original phrase. I was making the point that if you are stuck in the past, how can you move forward.

Without catching the culprit(s) there is no way to know their political affiliations. No facts, just feelings. That's no way to make determinations... right?
There is also logic. If a Republican politician suddenly gets death threats after turning on Trump and having Trump "retaliate" on social media, the first place you look is at Trump followers.

It's a fact that investigations start with the most logical and likely possibilities, then go from there.
It's why if a car is stolen, the police don't start questioning 3rd graders, and then work their way up to adults.
It's why if a High School gets vandalized, they look at the studens first, and not the principal, the janitor, or the lunch lady.
It's why if money is stolen from a cash register, they look to the cashier first, and not the CEO of the company.

You think she got threats in the past, and simply forgot to share it via every media outlet possible?
You don't think Trump would have used that as yet another "kill the radicalized left" rhetoric moment?

That would be pretty dang naive.

Sure and the left knows this in there never ending quest to smear any and all things right wing will force feed the narrative that it must be Trump supporters. Just like they force feed you all everything else.

So the left KNEW that MTG would at some point turn on Trump, and they waited for that moment to happen, just so they could make a move that was sure to make the right look bad.

OK, so that means the right must do the same thing, and everything that happens that makes the left look bad is pepetrated by the right.

Seems like it's a wash, then.

Black Americans are part of American culture. Many people died to free the slaves and we had the civil rights movement, and all of that is American. The western belief system is what ended slavery starting with the British iirc. Slavery still exists in plenty of non white countries, which is what I'm complaining about, you know, not importing those cultures into our country. See, you've been taught to hate our country even though we've been a shining beacon of freedom for a long time, we're freer than anywhere else in the world, yet you still try to down the nation that's freed the slaves and had the civil rights movement. You're proving my point in my eyes
You brought up how we need to get back to the traditional American values. Racism was a big part of those values.

Now you are jumping to what happens in other countries as far as slavery is concerned. What does that have to do with the ''traditional American values" you mentioned?

You don't have to have prior knowledge to be an ******* after the fact. She made a choice, and SOMEONE REACTED TO THAT CHOICE. Which is how most reactions work.

You think racism was a value? Why did you choose to go all the way back to slavery and racism? None of us were alive to practice any of those "values" as you call them. Maybe we bring that time line up a bit... How about we talk about Hanks song "Family Tradition". His family tradition is nothing more than getting high and having a good time. Maybe those values are too harsh as well?

How about getting married, respecting those vows. Raising your kids to respect other people. Working for the things you need in life like food, clothes and shelter. Not depending on others to hold your hand through life. Not being a drain on society. How about those values? Pretty straight forward and traditional to me. Maybe those are the values he was talking about.

What did I tell you? Another argument over words and definitions. Everybody else knows what you mean by traditional values. But for Always Right Rob, somehow Segregation is part of "traditional values." One would think that the guy that always knows what you think would know that you don't think Segregation is part of traditional values.

You're joking, yes?
You think that it was only in Democrat states that racism was openly practiced?

Segregation states, prior to Jim Crow.

Alabama-Democrat
Arkansas -Democrat
Delaware-Republican
Florida-Republican
Georgia-Democrat
Kentucky-split
Louisiana-Democrat
Maryland-Republican
Mississippi-Democrat
Missouri-Republican
North Carolina-Democrat
Oklahoma-Republican
South Carolina-Democrat
Tennessee-Republican
Texas-Democrat
Virginia-Republican
West Virginia-Democrat

What kind of delusion makes someone think that racism only occurred in Democrat states?
I'm not sure what kind of delusion make someone think that racism only occurred in Dem states. I'm not sure why you would direct that question at me. You even quoted me and clearly that statement doesn't suggest "racism only occurred in Dem states." You should direct your question to whoever it was that posted "racism only occurred in Dem states." The list you provided it proves exactly my point, so thanks for that. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Only in America. And why do I suspect that this judge who finds it unacceptable for a child to attend Christian Church would have found in favor of the kid attending church if it were an Islamic Church?

Everyone tried to end racism while the neomarxists are trying to use identity politics to keep racism alive and well.

Rob, you're ignorant or speak as if you are. Racism and slavery has been a part of every culture ever dude. Racism and slavery are still fundamental methods of operation in many nations, where racial or ethnic or religious genocides happen, enslavement. That's not happening in the US, as we ended slavery (outside of debt slavery to the bankers).

You're complaining about the US who is literally at the forefront of human rights and has been for a long time, so I think you sound really silly and ignorant. I don't think you actually comprehend world history in context.

He understands world history in a different context than you and I and most people who value facts over feels. Rob's context is what makes America and/or conservatives look bad. It's no different than the pro-Islam feminist, who aren't really cheering for Islam, but are really cheering against America and the West. LGBTQxyz for Palestine/Hamas idiots are another such group. They'd cheer for the AI apocalypse if AI presented itself as being anti-America, anti-white, etc.
