Looks like it will be available soon.... My gripes are the screen is no graphical... looks lame... and the internal amp "if ya use it" is cheap compared to the 9835.. Looks like the 35 was the cream of the crop, then the accountants got ahold of it and turned it into the 9855 with glide touch.

Notice I said "if ya use it" in the last post. Even though I do not use not now, that v-drive amp is worth it. When the deck is retired and goes into a daily driver car with just 4 aftermarket speakers, the 26wrms per channel will be a nice bonus! Also the 35 has graphics like the spinning cd when a cd is playing ect.. From every photo I have seen of the 55 it is lacking all of that and all the images of the deck playing have 0 graphics. Nobody's forcing you to buy one so don't worry about it.

I am not worried at all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Just posting up that crutchfield is taking orders, and with all the info I have seen, I posted what I did not like about it. I Obviously know what the 9835 looks like when playing a disk and I also know what the 55 looks like while playing a disk, just not near as nice. Others have noticed it also. No biggie, still going to be a killer deck.

Also when my 35 is retired I am happy that is has the nice built in amp, it will go into one of my daily drivers and that 26w rms per channel cea certified amp is nice when used as a deck and 4 system!

I Obviously know what the 9835 looks like when playing a disk and I also know what the 55 looks like while playing a disk, just not near as nice...

I've know I've seen pics of ithe 9855 playing a disc like this

But can't you also tone down the graphics on your 9835 to also look like this? I am just wondering because the 9855 has a RGB Biolite display, I coudn't see why Alpine wouldn't have any graphics like you say.

Not sure, just going off the pics I have seen. You saw the vid of the 9835 I made right..? Looks nothing like the images of the 55 I have seen. Also I have found no settings to "tone down" the graphics on the 35. Will have to use the 55 when it hits the local stores and see what all changes have been made in person //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You can turn off the background graphics if that is what your talking about, I do not use them anyways. The standard graphics of the 35 are awsome enough and look great.

Here is a basic screen off the 35... when playing an mp3 it shows this and the cd info scrolling in a bar just below the "compact disk" display. Looks awsome...

Better hurry. Crutchfield site says " Out of stock, This item is no longer available." Probably clearing them out for the 9855. Brick & mortar stores may follow?

it would be nice if the prices would drop a little on ebay. i think i like the 9835 just as much as the new one but for the same price, i think i would get 9855
