They do but they never work the holidays. The plants aren't even operational the first two weeks of July. My dad hired into Ford's in 1973 and never worked a holiday or a Sunday. It's written into their contract they get extra pay for holidays, but they never work holidays.Well, he didn't say when he was there. But your statement that they were closed does give credibility to this guy's story.
If you are saying that the employees do not receive extra compensation for working during this time I do not believe you.
With how serious all of your own threads are, I'd think you could fit into this.agreed. i refuse to get involved in serious conversations.
Do0d, I don't have a farking clue how to get Excel to automatically recognize change. If you find out, implement it to replace an employee.
i think you just solved my lunch dilemma. oyster stew would be hella nice thoughI think im going to go get a 5 dolla foot long. or maybe just a couple double cheeseburgers.
which you getting?i think you just solved my lunch dilemma. oyster stew would be hella nice though
i dont even know of an arby's near me.Arby's is running 5 for $5. It was 5 for $5.99 last year.
GM could've easily not signed the contract and let the UAW walk and bring in scab labor. The whole point of the union in the first place was for fair work environment and wages. Without organization it's impossible to negotiate wages with a workforce as large as the Big 3's.They can't fire everyone.
Thus what I thought was true...the union provides for and supports artificial employment and wage floors. These do not exist at other facilities that are non-unionized...thus the workforce and wage are more representative of demand rather than contracts.
But I don't blame the Unions, I blame GM...no one put a gun to their head. They should have been thinking about the future consequences.
THey don't have it here yet.Arby's is running 5 for $5. It was 5 for $5.99 last year.
not sure yet....they are 50 ft apart so i'll make a snap decision. i work better under pressure.which you getting?
i dont even know of an arby's near me.
No. You may NOT go to a country bar. If yyou do I will tell Sm on you.i have been invited back to the country bar. it seems they didnt get enough of me last time. guess my next project is learning how to 2-step.
it saddens me that i have stooped to country bar levels. oh, when the mighty fall.....
Wal-Mart employs more people than the big 3, and wages are negotiated.
I see Unions being valuable for working conditions and safety, not so much for wage negotiation.
wish ours were that close. they are in opposite directions.not sure yet....they are 50 ft apart so i'll make a snap decision. i work better under pressure.
well hell. dont tell him. he's already pissed at me. i havent had a gig in like 3 months.No. You may NOT go to a country bar. If yyou do I will tell Sm on you.
um... must be nice where you're living. here they tell you this is what they will pay you... and thats that.Yes, when I worked at Lowe's I negotiated my wage, when I worked at the Dollar Store, I negotiated my wage. When I worked at Food Lion, I negotiated my wage. Every person I ever met who wasn't in a Union negotiated their wage.
During the interview, they make an offer, and then you counter and explain why. If they do not feel you are worth that much, they then counter.
The job I have now, there is no negotiation. There is a payscale for all the world to see. Job X gets this rate and only this rate per Congress.
