i have a crunch 1100 watt powerzone amp and i have 2 mtx terminators hooked to it and the amp gets real hot and cuts off the subs but if i reset the amp it does okay. is the thermal protection cutting the subs off or what? and if it is is there a way i can keep the amp cooler?

1. What is the model number of your amp?

2. What is the impedance of your subs (DVC, 2-Ohms, DVC 4-Ohms, SVC 4-Ohms....)?

3. Are they wired stereo or mono bridged?

4. How are the coils wired (Parallel, Series, parallel/series....)

Answers to these questions will likely lead to the problem and solution.

You can also call 847 540-7700 and ask for tech support.

If a Powerzone is running hot, there is a reason that can be attributed.

well the powerzone series are kind of a piece of junk

I had one and it did pretty good. It's one 2 15" L7's and it beats,no overheating.

To the op,I think the powerzones are AB class and get hotter than D class, check your install also your subs wiring.
