Im running 3 sets of compts so i have 6 cross overs and am wondering the best place to mount them in an ext cab full size chevy

Thinking to avoid the door all together since i saw condensation in there = bad for electrical

My thought is to build a small MDF rack and mount them in the back behind the seat next to the amps (is having longer speaker wire like in this situation affect SQ?) oh and im running 14 gauge speaker wire. . .

it is fine to mount them by the amps, or under the seats, or under the amps, etc. i avoid door locations due to moisture as well. some crossovers offer setting adjustment so you'd want access to them for tuning.

a little extra wire won't hurt anything. the most important part is making quality connections.

Agreed. I was actually thinking of building a 3-way passive and I compared the cost to a Dayton DSP and it makes no sense to go passive.
