Sparks mean its working!
Ok, I have an Alpine 3672 Active crossover ad I'm not quite sure how to set it up. The ortion I will be using (does 2/3way front, 2 way rear, and sub; but I'm only using the 2-way front.) has 3 dials for frequency adjustment:
Low: 10Hz-120Hz
Mid: 200Hz-2KHz
High: 3KHz-10KHz
I just don't know how to set everything up. I'm assuming that if I flip the switch to combine the low and mid ranges that the low setting will be the highpass and the mid setting will be the lowpass. Then the high setting will be a highpass filter and will just let the tweets play as high as they need to. Am I right here?
Also, I was planning on crossing my tweets at 3 KHz to begin with, but this x-over only lets the mids go up to 2 kHz. Can you overcome that gap with EQ and if so, how?
Anyway, here's what I'm TRYING to do:
Sub: Lowpassed at 60 Hz and SSF set at 20 Hz (Will use amp controls for this not the active unit)
Mids: 60Hz-3KHZ (But will have to settle for 2 KHz and fix it with EQ I'm guessing)
Tweets: 3Khz and up.
The crossover can also adjust from -6db to +6db, and can flip the phase 180 degrees.
Thanks for all the help guys, this is a very nice all-in-one unit and it would **** if I had to sell and get something simplere because I'm too dumb to figure it out.
TIA
Aaron
