Crazy System

If money is no concern, just go to the best shop in your area and let them do everything.
Now i thought this site was for car audio nuts...wheres the fun in letting somone else do all the work for you lol....i don't wanna be the guy who drives around in bumpin to somebody else' hard work

Like some helpful people said.. make sure you fully understand box/port design before you build. There's an equation on google somewhere for port length.. since you're new I'd recommend a box w/ a slot port.. simple and traditional. Just do i on a large scale.. whatever you're recommended size is. The port length determines the requency the box is tuned to.. I don't know fully for sure, but I believe it peaks at that frequency.. or something like that. Seems like 32hz is pretty popular.

Measure twice, cut once, and then when you have a good quality box everything else will fall into place.

If any of that info's wrong just correct me plz n thnx.

As for an alt.. upgrading = easy.. if there's a bolt on. I've never looked for HO alts so I'm not sure. However, if they don't make one for your car you'll just have to do some custom work. Read up on how charing systems works, and determine what system your car has, then find a suitable replacement HO alt, and fabricate a custom mounting bracket if necessary.

im going to try to do this without giving you too much of a hard time, you can get an audioque hdc 18 and a used bxi 2000 for just the price of the solo x itll "wang" just as hard, probably hit the lows better and sound better and be equally impressive cuz instead of people going "oh its a solo x thats why its loud" they'll go "WTF is that?!?.. and where can i get one"

and i know your probably unfamiliar with audioque... http://www.audioque.com/aq/HDCSeries.htm

so 345 for the sub, 200 for the amp, your GOING TO NEED a battery with that little car, yellow top up front and a deka 9a31 out back will probably be sufficient. bout 100 for the yellow top and 150 for the deka. also going to need approx 50ft(guessing, 17 from front to back, 3 for ground from amp, 3 for ground from 2nd battery, give or take 15 for big 3, 5 from second bat to amp... and a little extra) of 1/0 power cable for big 3 and for amp powering.

http://www.knukonceptz.com/productMaster.cfm?category=KLMX%20Kable 1.75/ft unless you can find it cheaper on the boards.

so lets total it up.

sub - 345

amp - 200

yellow top - 100

deka intimidator 9a31 - 150

wiring - 100ish

terminals/fuse holder/fuses ETC - 100ish

wood - 60ish (going to probably need 2 sheets, 4.5 cubes @ 38hz...72 in^2 port)

so... grand total 1055$.... approx. my suggestion would be to give someone on here your max dimensions for the box, have them design you a box down to the size of each panel, go to home depot and have the guy runnin the panel saw cut your box out for you, all you gotta do is glue n screw, like putting a puzzle together. don't forget to brace

you asked about amp also - forgot that one
hifonics bxi line = cheap solid power. a little over rated - but still solid good amps.

the sex = sundown audio amps.

im personaly not a fan of kicker amps - they run hot - and some dont like 1 ohm load.
really, you're the first person i've ever heard say kicker amps run hot, i know mine doesn't. what kicker amps don't like 1 ohm? Maybe the ones rated at 2 ohms.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suicide.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

I am pretty sure i am going to figure out my max box dimensions and pay the local car autio nut here to make and tune the box for me but i want to do the rest....shoud i run 1 or two batteries...or just 1 with a HO alt??

Nothing wrong with the system. humming sound. Just the amplifier. Just switch it to volume maximum, then enjoy the music there. Loud. Sorry...

The Kappa's have a high sensitivity rating of 93 db so the X802-5 would be fine. A good high sensitivity 8" sub in a properly sized box would fit...
