i would assume it has something to do with the fact that you can't jumpstart with that car either. i could go out in my driveway and give it more of a look.... but its late.

Even a GOOD install will sound like crap when not tuned properly. I've heard a few cars with nice equipment, deadened, etc... but then they crank up ALL the EQ settings, so you get ssss.....boom boom.....sssss......boom boom.....just muddy bloated bass and ear splitting highs.

If you see the guy again ask him if YOU can tune it for him and let him know what distortion sounds like as obviously he has no clue...

You said high end Focals but you dont mention which models. For all we know it could be the cheap Access ones or the Utopia series. I would guess its the Polyglass series seeing how you said 6x9 in the rears.
