i'm pretty new to car audio and still trying to figure a few things out. I haven't found these questions on the web or forum but sorry if these questions have already been answered. Anyyyway, Ive got two 12's rated at 800RMS total being powered by a class d amp rated at 900RMS at 1ohm. The setup was installed at a shop so i'm 99% sure all is well but they told me they put the gain on about 60%. i know you shouldn't crank it to 100% but id like it just a little louder than it is, maybe ill put it to 70-80%? Ive got the subs bridged to 1 and 1/2 ohm so i'm guessing the amp is putting out just under 900RMS total? how do i tell how many watts the subs are getting so when i adjust the gain i don't send to much power to the subs and damage them? I'd have to check but i think the amp 's power knob is set to 1.2volts (i could be wrong).

Also, the bass boost is set around 1/2 power (6dbs). Could this damage the subs? i dont hear any distortion or clipping, but i want to make sure.

thank you
