Ok could someone help me match up my some speakers with an amp......

ok so ive decided to go with this amp Kicker ZX100.2 for my comps.

but i need help picking my comps and making sure everything wiring wise will work.

what would be some good comps for about $175. i was looking at the Polk Audio MOMO MMC6500.

i guess i want it to be wired to 2 ohms to get (50x2)

That amp is way underpowered. You'll want at least the zx350.2 (110rms x 2, 4ohms), but preferrably the zx550.2 (205 rms x 2, 4 ohms). hifisoundconnection.com has factory refurbs with a 90 day warranty if you want to save money from buying new.

If you want lower price still, you could go with Profile amps. They make decent, budget amps. The Profile AP1000 (160 rms x 2, 4 ohms ) is $86 at millionbuy.com.

As for components, the Polk Momo MMC6500's are good, as are the Rainbow SLC 265's, the Pioneer REV TS-C160R's, and several others.

The comps cannot be "wired to 2 ohms", as you mentioned. You can only do that with subs, because you have multiple speakers, and multiple voice coils, that you can wire in series or parallel, to get the ohm load you want.

Yeah I would say that amp is not going to get you where you want to be. It doesnt put out any power really... especially for a set of comps that are around $175 bucks.

I would say if your looking for a budget front stage, go with the PG RSD's, they can be had for under $100 bucks, and get an amp that does 100x2@ 4 ohms and your straight. The Kicker amp mentioned above would suit you well...zx350.4

It all depends on what quality you want in your vehicle, to what we can recommend for you.

Since you mention it, yeah the zx350.4 would be a good choice (I mentioned the 2-channel, zx350.2). The 4-channel can be bridged to 180 rms x 2. That's actually the amp I have, powering my Germs. Good solid amp.

The problem is i got 2006 civic with a stock alternator.........

and i got a a 1200 rms amp for my sub (150 amp fuse), dvd double din, and i dont think the stock alt. will be able to handle another amp for my comps. thats the only reason i was thinking about the little kicker amp ( 15 amp fuse). will my stock electrical system handle another amp for my comps?

if i had a higher amp alt i wouldnt think twice about getting a bigger amp for my comps........

adding another 2 channel to power comps won't kill your electrical.
