Could my electrical take it?

OK so im more than likely going to be powering in the future some thing like two HCCA D5000s or some thing of that amount of power.

My electrical consist currently of two optima yellow tops (starter and for audio)

stock alt- 130 amps

So far I have been able to set the gains on the amp to power 2500rms @ 1ohm but my voltage drops very low, around 12.3 volts at idle and if I rev the engine it goes around 13.0volts, this is with a stock 130amp alternator. When I was at idle with no music on or nothing it was at 14.2v

My question is...if I was to run two orion 2500ds with two optima yellow tops and a 200amp alternator, will I be fine or will I need a bigger alt?

IMO, I say it isn't enough but some people disagree.

Figure out your current draw, go from there. Maybe have somebody measure the current the 2500 draws at your ohm load with music?

Think somebody told me with two PA A3000dbs it would be some thing like 313 amps

the extra battery isn't helping you. i'd try to go bigger then 200 amp

I did two (amps) times 2500rms (each amp) and divided it by 13.8 and got 362

to create 2500 rms watts at 14 volts you need 178 amperes

What do you mean it isn't helping?

the second battery doesn't charge itself, therefore more strain on your alternator
