Correct box dimensions for RE HC?

Just wanted to run these by everybody to make sure it the numbers are correct and if everything seems right

2003 RE HC 15" in a 3.8ft^3 box tuned to ~32hz

Internal dimensions - 31"(W) x 15"(H) x 20"(D)

Port dimensions - 4"(W) x 15"(H) x 34.88" (L)

The total internal volume is 5.38 minus the driver displacement = .19ft^3, minus the port volume = 1.211ft^3, minus the port bracing = .18ft^3 which all = 3.8ft^3...

This sounds right? Do I need any additional bracing?

I looked at the numbers again and I am not sure what you mean...which displacement is wrong?

1) I know they're wrong because you just multiplied the port dimensions (4*15*34.88/1728 = 1.211 ft^3)
2) I can get 0.19 ft^3 using 5/8" MDF, but you really shouldn't be using 5/8" MDF ... I'd say 3/4" MDF is bare minimum for a driver of this magnitude in an enclosure of this size. Also, since driver displacement for an HC15 is 0.18 ft^3, I think you mixed the numbers up in your first post.

3) You never specified the thickness of the walls (specifically the baffle the port passes through). This is quite important as this portion of the port that passes through the wall does not take up space within the enclosure ...

4) How your port is laid out can affect your tuning frequency and must be accounted for ... I'd say your enclosure is tuned 1-2 Hz below 32 Hz ...

wow feel like an idiot now...can anyone help with how i should go about correcting these problems...???

I am planning on using 3/4" mdf throughout the entire enclosure and the port will be running along the far right side of the box and than along the back wall...

Does 1.14t^3 sound correct for the port volume?
