I am considering this 80prs unit. I have been reading about it and see it does many things. What I am interested in is the auto-eq and time alignment.
But, I am not sure I can do this with the system components the way they are connected. Here is what I have:
1. Alpine older 9xxx series hu, using front out going to my 4 ch amp, of which I am using 2 channels.
2. polk db6501 components
3. Alpine type R 12d4 sub
4. rockford fosgate punch 400-4, utilizing only 2 channels to polk components.
5. rockford fosgate prime 750 powering sub
All of this is in a 2008 chevy aveo5.
I am confused over network vs standard mode. Do I need the mids and tweets powered seperately to use auto eq and time alignment? I still only want to have them powered the way they are. 2 channels from the punch 400 are powering the components.
I definitely need to learn a lot more about how to set up this receiver before buying it, and that is what I hope to learn from many of you.
What exactly is standard mode? Can you auto-eq/time align using that mode.
Given the components that I have and the way they are wired, how would you connect and tune the 80prs?
I am looking, as I have read, many people are, for better sound from this new pioneer than I have with my old alpine.
Hopefully we will have a good discussion here regarding this receiver, and also please feel free to point me to other sources for info on how to connect it and tune it.
Thanks,
Viper
