Alpine and Android Bluetooth

I've had an Alpine CDE-154BT for about 3 months now, and although it's a nice head unit, I've been disappointed in the Bluetooth control options when paired with an Android phone. Does anyone know of any sort of firmware for the head unit or Android mods/media players that work best with the head unit? Thanks in advance.
