connecting wire from sub to amp

i was thinking about just drilling a hole in my new box and just running the speaker wire through that to connect to my subwoofers and then filling the hole up with silicone. are there any cons with that idea?

The only real con to that is if the sub enclosure should need to be removed it may be an inconvenient process but other than that, no.

this should work perfectly.

unless you're as worried as some people about tuning to the scales of 0.000000000000000000140100000000001 Hz.

just make sure its air tight.

As long as you can get the sealant seated properly so that the entry for the wire doesn't leak air I can't see it being a problem.
