Connecting to existing amp

So I just bought a 4runner with the jbl system in it and I have 2 kicker L7s I am wanting to through in there. I have them hooked up to a different car with a line out converter. My question is when I put them in the 4runner would I need go thru the amp or could I use the LOC. Which would be the better option?
