connecting into passive crossover while keeping female disconnect terminals

I'm planning on connecting speaker wire from my amp into Morel Maximo passive crossovers but would rather not cut out the female disconnects on speaker wire (so that I can connect it straight into coaxial speakers or something if I wanted to).

Im thinking of this:

amp -> (fork terminal)----speaker wire----(female disconnects) -> (male disconnects)----speaker wire----(fork terminal) -> passive crossover

would this potentially cause issues?

OR should I just do it normally like this:

amp -> (fork terminal)----speaker wire----(fork terminal) -> passive crossover
