I have a Pioneer Premier 860mp (04 model I believe) which has built in adjustable slopes and crossover points and such. My amps also have these crossovers. Is the crossover in the HU considered an active since it occurs before amplification? Should I use the HU or amp crossovers? Like I said I am //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Your amp's crossover setting will always take first priority in your setup, so if you want to use the crossover settings on your head unit, you need to turn your crossover adjustments on your amp to full range(all the way up), or turn them off, if you amp will allow it.

I've got the same capabilities on my HU and amp, and I've got it so I make all my adjustments from my HU when I want/need to.

what redcalimp5 said, turn your amp on full range to use your Head unit's crossover capabilities. Don't do what i did, i turned them all down to use the Head unit xover. I was so confused as to why my speakers weren't that loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

LOL Yep, don't turn them down. It's easy to be confused when you're new to stuff like that, though.

"Full range" just meant to physically turn/adjust the crossover settings all the way to the max that they will go on your amp.

Yeah thats cool. Im not really brand new to car audio in general, just the active and passive thing. Currently I have the amps set to full pass and control with the HU. Its just too much of a pita to crawl in the trunk to see what I set them too:D

I have the PPI PCX series amps, and sometimes its hard to count the "detents"
