CompVR sucks too much power

More than likely, yes.
Awsome, im expecting to get a DDM sometime in the next few days. I guess 40 volts would be good. 400 wats at 4ohms. Also, does any other voltage factor into that, or will this rough estimate be a good one?

That estimate will be spot on. Keep in mind almost all music is recorded at around -5 to -6 dB, so using a -3dB test tone is perfectly fine.

is that whats on the back of the amp? It has a button that says tone. So idk. Plus idk where to get a test tone, and i guess i'd need a cd to burn it on. Will that tone work for my components too?

well i'd have to figure out what i want for the watts to my comps. And idk how to tell what the ohms are. Aren't they a set ohm? So it would say on the comp?

Yes, it's a set impedance. If the comps are 4 ohms, the amp will have a 4 ohm load.
yes thank you. They are 4 ohms, and i want 50-60 watts going to them, so i still need a volt metter, but i know my gians aren't up too high, or at least im not plaing my music loud enough

So i built a box today. Well, i "built" a box. I didnt have a table saw, so all my cuts sucked *** cuz the circular saw was a ***** to work with, and i just **** in general. But it will look fine covered up in carpet. Problem is i cant seal the basket against the baffel. I've tried tape so far. A few layers of electrical tape between the two, and it cut it down....alot. but i still have a leak. Im thinking of laying down a bead of silicone, letting it dry, then mount the sub, would that work?

Anyways, the new box makes my system much better. All i need now is a new HU, and im set. Can't wait

Definetely , the silicone seal will help not only for the sub, but all the joints in the enclosure as well. Sell that thing up as air tight as you can get it or the results will be something similar to that of fresh puke.

i have sealed the inside. And all i did today was re-attach the sub, cept this time i really torqued the screws down, so the foam pad around thebottom of the sub got a good seal. No more leaks WOOT.

Good news. Everything sounds great with the new box. It hits hella hard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Also i re adjusted my equalizer, because now that i can hear my sub, i dont need as much bass up front. Sounds hella good. Anyways, i got TI's new cd T.I. vs T.I.P. and ****nnn that shit's got alot of bass, sounds good tho. Im happy. Now i can only imagine what it would be like with decent equipment
