CompVR 12s vs 15s

What do you think will get louder?

2 12's in a ported box or 2 15s in a sealed box.

They will both be getting less than kicker reccomended minimal volume requirements.

They will both get any and all power they want or need.

Going into the trunk of a 2005 Civic Sedan, no sound deadening will be used.

reliable?

durable?

hows the spl?

hows the sq?

can handle more or less power than stated?

the 15's because they have more cone area..

they are solid woofers. im sure some will come around and say other subs blow them away it really boils down to budget. as for how they will sound i dunno because i dont know how much too small the box will be lol. frankly i would just do some atlases or some ss rl-i 10's sealed with real small boxes.....

keep in mind 12s are ported, and 15s are sealed.

Im looking for approx 70/30 split of SPL/SQ on a budget.

and how well do these stack up to Type R's?

I know the Type R's have much better SQ, but what about in terms of output and reliability?

I have a Type R set-up in a custom ported box and it blows my friends CVR's away. He has his 12's sealed though (whatever works for him). I'm feeding my type R's roughly 400w RMS a piece with 2 amps (1 going to each sub). I'd recommend the Alpines.. Nothing wrong with cvr's though, they are a nice sub.

^ Type Rs sound different, but I wouldn't say "much better". If I were you I'd go w/ 1 15 ported. Small boxes tend to make subs sound like ***.

Wait, I remember you. Why are you asking how Type R's are, if you already have them? You wanted to sell me 2 12" Type R's a few months ago. I bought my Type R's new though.

Yea, I sold those Type R's long time ago.

I used them for a short while and they were good, sounded great and got loud enough. I want to know how the CompVR's are compared to them because I have never heard CompVRs.

Ok then, why in the email when you were trying to sell me the Type R's did you say

"the type r's r new, never been used at all, they have a little wear and tear cuz they were just sitting arounf for about 4 monhts from handling, but they r in 100% perfect working condition. the wear and tear is very very minimal also."

that is all true. i bought them off a guy off another forum.

in total i bought 6 type R;s off him, sold 4, 2 are currently if my friends car.
