Compvr 12 Problem

My friend gave me a compvr 12 when the volume is low u can hear a rattle/buzz coming from the sub but when u turn the volume up its not that noticable.I was just wondeing if there is a problem with the sub.

maybe thats the reason he gave it 2 ya, maybe be a bad sub

Check the DCR of the coils? That would rule out VC issues...

Oh ya I forgot to mention that when I tap on the cone u can hear the rattle and if you hold the sub upsidedown it gets worse.

lmao, one of my buddies bought a 12 cvr off ebay and when we hooked it up it did the same thing, the sub looked perfect and didnt smell like it had been hot or nething. one voice coil did it worse than the other but there was still that nasty rattle thats noticable at low volume levels and not as bad as it is turned up...... my advice to you is do what he did, get rid of it! he let some newbee hear it wit the volume up " and we all know how crazy newbees go when they hear a sub" and just hit pause when they wanted to talk to em and they bought it, good luck

Thats exactly what mine does but when u lightly push on one side of the surround it goes away but when u push on the other side its gets worse, also when its in an enclosure and u position the sub so that the CVR logo is centered is sounds like crap but when u turn the sub upside down so thats CVR logo is upside down the rattle would almost be gone.
