Computer Problem?

You are gonna have to do what I said on malwarebytes and a 2nd computer or take it to someone that can fix it..
I think im going to hit up my friend to fix it, i was just hoping there was a way to do it without going trough the hassle.

I actually fix pc's and set up networks for a living....what i would reccomend

1. restart your pc in safemode (f8 while the pc boots)

2. boot into "Safe mode with networking"

3. Go online and D/l malwarebytes (Malwarebytes)

4. install it and update it (It will install in Safe mode no problem)

5. Run it

6. hopefully it got all the crap out.

If you havent fixed it already...try it.

I already told him to do that first on page 1.

Best way to look at it is, is that its your harddrive that is ****ed, not your computer. Delete the harddrive, re-install the Operating system or whatever, and should be fresh.
Not to knock you...Not everyone wants to be a format ranger. no offense, sir.

You got rid of the problem but I guarantee there is more. What you need to do now is download Avast antivirus, Spybot, and Adaware. They are all free and updated regularly. Those along with Malwarebytes should keep things pretty clean. Although downloading a 2nd free antivirus couldn't hurt (AVG comes to mind). Me personally, would grab CCleaner as well and clean up the registry every so often. They are all easy to use and free.

My computer has had the same virus about 5 times, but I haven't had any trouble since I installed AVG.

Running 20 av programs is not necessary. Most all malware comes from clicking on shit.

Firefox with adblock plus will get rid of 90% of all popups and banner ads

Microsoft has their own AV now called microsoft security essentials. Its free. you cant tell its there, and its second only to KAV. I use it when Kaspersky doesnt do the job. Malware bytes isnt bad but its a resource hog. AVG is about the worst. I run security essentials and adblock and dont ever have problems. Wiping your local profile would also help, or at least your app data / temp files. I can explain but its a bit of a process. If youre lazy, backing up and reinstalling is the next best option.

I dont see the point in running 20 kinds of anti malware that makes your pc run like shit when you have it so your pc doesnt run like shit. Just be careful what you browse (pronz etc.) http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

just out of curiosity what type networks do set up? Novell Linux or Windoz?
Mostly windows 08R2 and VMWare Infrastructure but we use BSD for web serving and file serving. Just about anything really. I havent messed with novell much, not any of the newer infrastructures anyway.

If you mean from a client standpoint then Win7, Vista, and XP. We have a couple Ubuntu labs for educational purposes, believe it or not children deal with linux better than adults.

what don`t you like about AVG?
AVG is a resource ***** and is awful at rootkit detection. Its not what it used to be, its not the worst but one of them in my opinion. Try uninstalling it and running MSE and see how you like it

Kaspersky is probably my favorite just because I know it in and out and it doesnt intrude.

As far as free goes though Security Essentials is probably the best. It integrates perfectly with any microsoft OS and doesnt bother you unless there is a real problem. Great at catching trojans and backdoor bugs.
