Computer problem help...

I'm over at my aunt's house, trying to fix her computer. After about 10 minutes the internet connection drops in IE, and doesn't work at all in Firefox. If I unplug the ethernet, then plug it back in, internet works for about 10 minutes before quitting again. I don't think it is network related, she doesn't mess with any of those settings and her internet has been fine for ~2 years. I'm running anti-adware/spyware stuff now, but anybody have any ideas?

not a network problem.... tested her internet on my laptop, works fine.

could be the ethernet cable. is the ethernet port, built into the mobo?

When it drops connection, have you verified whether you lose an IP address, can u ping out when it drops, and does it do it in safe mode? All good routes to take to troubleshoot the issue.

Also rarely do you have to reset a router. Very often you will power cycle, which I'm sure is what you meant. But resetting the router will set it back to factory defaults using the recessed reset button on the back of the router. Just good to know
