Computer IS Fried, Need Your input on what to do next.

I've decided to order the parts I need instead of buying a computer outright. After many hours of looking around, I realized it would definatly cost more to buy a new computer than salvage what I have left. I still have a fear of something not going smoothly, so I'll likely take the parts and have them installed by the shop who tested it. Labor will be about $50-100, which I can handle. Also, I'm not sure I'll need a video card, so I'm leaving that suggestion up to you all.

These are the parts I'm looking at:

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813128016

Processor:

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819115005

Power Supply:

Having trouble finding a micro atx board. Does anyone know if the full HP towers will support other types of power supplies?

Video Card:

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16814133150

If you feel there is anything I should change. Like I said, I'd like your advice on the video card. I'm not too sure I'll need it, but if I do, I want something I'll be happy with in the future.

Seeing as how I'm having trouble picking out the parts would anyone be so kind as to recommend some parts for me? I don't want to ask someone to do all the work for me, but I've spent two days and am still at nothing since I can't get anything to match up. Also, I'd like to stay with just Newegg since they have a really good financing deal going. $600 budget.

New Case: I don't care. Ugly, pretty, whatever. As long as it fits the below parts.

Mobo: ATX (on board audio is fine, no video though)

Processor: Dual Core 2 (if I'm buying one, might as well get one that is good)

Power Supply: Something over 400w it's probably best.

Video Card: Not sure what to look for here. I'd like 256 mb. I need something good for video editing/cad, but I don't play games.

I already have 1 GB of PC4200, a TV Tuner card with Remote, a 250 gb Hard Drive, DVD-ROM & a DVD Burner.

If you need the XP software let me know. Legally BTW...
I might. My dad said he might be able to get a copy from work, but who knows.

Okay, how does this revamped list look?

No case, but I'm not sure what to look for. Is there anything special to buying a case other than size? Do they come with cables? Can you simply plug in whatever parts you have, or do you have to assemble brackets for them to be placed in?m to be placed in?

Well, well. I went to BB today on a hunch that the first guy who tested my computer was probably screwing me over.

Took it to a friend of a friend at the geek squad counter. He tested the Power Supply which turned out to be fine. I watched him use the tester and all lights turned on. He said it's more than likely the mother board, but they'd have to charge to test it. Seeing as how the other guy said it was that as well, I'm going to assume it is the mobo.

Also, geek said that if I got a micro atx board and processor, that it would fit fine. He just said to make sure that it's DDR2 compatible. So....I'm now back to just getting a mobo, video card, and probably getting a power supply since I'll need the extra power.

Therefore, to the mobo. Which one would be the best bet, a 945 or 965? Could I use a 965 now since I'm not replacing optical drives?

The mobo on my current unit is a 945g chipset. I figure if I stay within the 945g I shouldn't have many complications. Therefore, I looked up and found this

The only bad this is it doesn't have DVI or firewire ports. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
