well im attempting to reinstall windows on a desktop on i have. the computer originally didnt have a dvd drive, so i put one in there. so when i put the dvd in, the dvd drive starts to act like its reading the disc, then stops. it does that over and over, then will stop, and do nothing. what could the problems be?

nope.

and now it says non-system disk or disk error.

Sounds like a bad dvd drive, did you test it on a working

computer?

Restart the computer and see if the BIOS boot order is set to check the optical (CD) drive first. Could be part of the problem.

first of all, check to see if there is any dvd drive. if there is, make sure you download all the drivers required for that drive and your dvd player. if there is no dvd drive that means it was not detected, in which case you can do that manually. check the first solution before hand.
