computer help please!!!

dell=the devil on reinstalls

they hide partitions for backups and restore features and the reinstall discs ****

i suppose they do this for the newbs, but for anyone with a clue it is just a hassle

ok now the only thing not working is the network controller the screen is fine now. Just the wifi catcher isnt working.

That and for some reason the scroll on my mouse pad isnt working

did you reset your user name and password on your network?

check your sound, thats a common problem with dells after reinstall

yea now the problem is just the network card still isnt working for some reason. If i never deleted or formatted my first version of the OS and installed a new one does that mean i have two OS on the hard drive or what

The easiest way to do this is that you'll need to reinstall the os again. This time do it from the system memory and not from the cd.

Dell has all of the drivers and everything that you need already on the laptop, you just got to get to it.

like i said in pm, there is a good chance dell has a hidden partition on the drive to help you restore it to original specs, just call dell and ask for a little help

i've never reinstalled using that partition so i have no idea how to access it

To access hidden Dell recovery partition

As you boot up, you will see the dell logo (thats the bios loading) right after that there is a flash of the PBR loading (it has a blue bar at the top), it may be very quick or may not be there at all. You pess, ctr+f11 and release them at the same time. It may take several tries, but if its activated/on there, it will come up to do a restore.

Option B:, look on the side of your dell. Find a little sticker (usually near the vista key) that says Service tag. Go to support.dell.com. Next click on the Drivers and downloads. Type in your service tag and there you have every driver you will need.

Option C: Go to the windows update in the control panel. Often times most/all drivers will be in the optional windows updates.

Problems give me a pm
