so i have a computer that is locked and basically has to have a opertaing system put in it and delete the one that is already programmed

so if i buy the windows is that all i need to delete the current one is there anything i need to delete the old one if not how do i delete it

holy shit **** so how much am i looking at to make this usealbe

and it doesnt have a cd drive so i know i have to buy one for it so thats 200 but once i reinstall the windows i will return the cd drive and the windows program so thats not an issue

not stolen this is a friend of mine who bought it off ebay and it came locked and the couple who owned this got divorced and the wife left it and the husband put it on ebay she didnt want it and he doenst kno the log in info and doesnt have a way to contact his ex wife so i am stuck bascially

and its a ibm thinkpad so yea

Get a copy of windows.

When you install it, about 5 mins into the install, it'll prompt you to format your HD .

You don't need anything else to format it.
