Component System, what would you buy?

I couldn't care less about what Steve Meade uses. Anyway, just stick to one set. It'll be much easier to tune and a lot less work. Should still sound pretty nice, though.
Dude, why are you being so argumentative with me? I'm not trying to be a dick, and the only reason I mentioned Meade is because most car audio guys have heard of him...

(unless your subs are ungodly)...
They are lmao:D

2 DD 9512g's dual 2ohm extra stiff suspension(8 spiders) z coils, kevlar comp. cone with carbon fiber over lay, Carbon Fiber (6.5in.)dust cap, and 80mm xmax

Spent all of my money on them and now can't get the comps i wanted //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

NICE!

Dude, you can always pick up more comps later if you're not satisfied with only one set.

I'd look into the RE XXX 6.5"s, man. They're very nice, and being 2 Ohms will save you some cash when buying an amp...

Yeah i was thinking about them! But theyre $400 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

and i guess my subs arent ungodly compared to some of the people on here! But they're more than good enough for me!

The Pioneer PRS set is one of the most highly-regarded component sets today in any price range, and it's a steal at ~$250. One good set of amplified components + good install = enough for one car, unless it's going to be a SPL monster.
I'd probably try this set, even though it is well under your budget.

I hear about ppl putting 150rms per side with these even though the specs say only 60 per side. is that true?

FWIW, I'm feeding my Polk SRs with ~400wpc, even though they're rated for 125. The rating, itself, is largely irrelevant. It's the position of the volume knob that counts.

The RE XXX 6.5"s for $280 shipped. I've bought from these guys (audio savings) several times, and I've never been disappointed. They're reputable, and they have great prices on RE equipment.
