Whelp, i bought some Polk MOMO MMC6500's for my front stage and i have a kicker ZX350.2 to push em, but im sort of confused on how to wire the crossovers. It seems pretty basic from the speaker side of things, but not the amp side. Im guessing that the tweets and mid's go into the crossover OUTPUT, seeing that the amp is pushing to the speakers correct? also, it says for single input mode, use only the tweeter +/- inputs, and to leave the mid +/- inputs alone. Im guessing my ZX350.2 is a single input setup right? Im kind of confused on how it gets wired from amp to crossover, but from those directions, im guessing i just use the tweet input and leave the midbass input alone? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

The MOMO passive crossovers are biamp/biwire capable - meaning they allow you to run two sets of inputs from the amp.

For Biamp: you'll need 4 separate amp channels total. One channel for each of the passive crossover inputs. Set the passive crossovers for dual input mode.

For Biwire: you'll need to attach 2 runs of speaker wire from each output channel of the 2 channel amp into the passive crossover separate mids and tweets inputs. Set the passive crososovers for dual input mode.

If you don't want to biamp or biwire, then set the passive crossovers for single input mode, and wire as referenced in the manual.

Since you are working with a 2 channel amp, I'd recommend going the biwired, dual input route.

wow, this is much more in depth than i thought it was going to be hehe.

so let me try to get this straight. so to "biwire" is to have two pos and two neg wires per channel, and somehow wire that into the crossover? I think its the crossover thats confusing me so much heh. The crossover has 4 inputs: tweeter pos, tweeter neg, mid pos, and mid neg. If i was to biwire, how exactly would the wiring be from the amp to the crossover? The only installation directions the momo's came with is how to mount equipment, and thats the easy part heh

Let's see if I can make this a bit more simple for you since I own the same series of components but in the 5.25" size (MMC5250). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Since you are using a 2-channel amp to power them the Dual input isn't going to be an option for you. To utilize the bi-amp option you would need 4 separate output channels and currently you don't with that Kicker amp.

(a) Set the crossover switch to single input.

(b) Attach the positive output from one amp channel to the tweeter positive input on one of the crossovers

© Attach the negative output from the same amp channel to the tweeter negative input on the same crossover

(d) Attach the tweeter + and - wiring to the appropriate output terminals on the crossover and then likewise for the midwoofer

(e) Repeat the above for the other amp channel and the other crossover module

(f)Done!

that clears a whole lot up hehe thanks. So since i am using single input mode, i simply wire the tweets/mids to crossover as directed, but when wiring to the amplifier, i only use the tweeter input.

Correct.

I acquired my set used with no manual so if the directions hadn't been clearly printed on the yellow label inside the crossover cover I'd have been a bit lost myself. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
