Component speakers. Right side slightly quieter than the left.

I would check ohms 1st if one side is lower than other it could be drawing more power thus it would be alil louder

Also RCA cords do go bad. Good to see ya using USB the 3.5 cords seem to goof up fast but I never had a good 3.5 cord

I used to use 3.5mm years ago back when I didn't have crazy high end sh*t. Now I'm running Sundown sa-8v2's, Focal PS165's, AQ 200.2, and got a Rockford T2500-1BDCP coming in in a couple weeks. Sure it's not the HIGHEST end stuff but still pretty good compared to what I had years ago lol

But just swapping the right for the left on the RCA's will result in the left being the right and the right being the left. Which is a problem. And If I were to swap both the RCA's and the wires on the amp channels....Then it puts it back EXACTLY the way it was before essentially with the right channel still being lower than the left.
You're killing me. The amp doesn't HAVE left and right. It just has... channels. Your RCAs tell it which is which. It seems moot since you don't think it's the amp, but whatever you jab into the RCA input that is wired to the right channel... the right channel is STILL going to be lower. If it's an amp issue. You can put your iPod stright into it and it'll still play lower. So how do you get the left side to play lower? Swap the speaker wires. But if you don't swap the RCA's... your left and right are going to be backwards.

Wonder why they label the channels L and R for the wires then if it doesn't matter? And as for swapping the RCA's am I going to have to pull the deck and swap them at the deck side AND at the amp? Or can I just swap them at the amp and pull off the same thing? Trying to visualise it in my head but it's still early for me haha. Only been awake for 3 hours lol

The labeling is just for reference so you know what RCA goes to what terminal. You think if you put the left RCA in the "right" input on the amp it's going to play the right side? No. Your HU has the left and right. Not all amps are even labeled left and right. Just numbered like mine Channel 1, channel 2, channel 3, and channel 4. Whatever you jab into channel 1 input is what is going to get spit out of channel 1 speaker terminal.

You don't have to swap at the HU. Just at the amp.

OK so final solution to get the left to be the one playing lower I want to swap wires from L to R and also RCA's from L to R correct? And then everything should be playing as it should but having the left speaker be the slightly quieter one?

Right side left side who cares. I hook mine up like amp says, keeps it easy. I guess you could hook it up how ever the h3ll you wanted to

But all that doesn't help this guy out. He clearly said one speaker is lower ohm than other so this would make the speaker that's reading a lower ohm take a lil bit more power. And I would guess to say the left side is reading the lower impedance.

Swap speaker is only way if the left is reading a lower impedance than right.
OK yeah now I get it. Finally starting to wake up I guess lol. Hopefully that is the case cuz that would be the easiest way to fix it. Still havent gone down to my car to check the impedences yet. Trying to finish COD: Black Ops 1 haha.

Although if the one side is reading a slightly lower impedance is that ever normal for 2 sets of speakers to have a slight variance in their impedance? Like I'm talking 0.2 of an Ohm

Well I finally checked the impedance of the speakers tonight and actually they read the same (3.7ohms). So I guess that means its most likely an RCA issue. The RCA's I'm using for the front channels are a few years old now so probably time to get some new ones :p

At least it's a easy fix for ya now
Lets hope. I've also got a set of RCA's for "rear" ran to the back as well which im not using. Might just trying swapping those onto the amp and see if it makes a difference. Although those RCA's are the exact same type and age. But I would doubt that 2 sets of RCA's would have the exact same symptom anyways. I just hope it's not the head unit cuz I paid quite a bit for it ($450) and it's not even a year old yet

why is it when I turn my HU around the R is on the L and L is on the R but when I turn around and look at my amp L is on the L and R is on the R? With the left side of my amp facing up of coarse.

What you just said makes absolutely no sense. But if your not just trolling and actually looking for help on something, make your own thread.

Sorry, just interjecting a little humor on a quite hilariously entertaining thread. Lighten up a little, didn't realize you owned the thread. Since I am required by law to be helpful, if the problem moves around with swapping wires/rca's, just use 1 rca and measure voltage on each side. If you still have a problem it's your HU. Try to have a nice evening and thank you for an entertaining thread.
