component sets 6x9 and 6.5

Sure, no warranty, no adapters, no help reduces the cost. If you already know what you are doing, you can save money. If you don't, having the help is gonna save you a lot more money in the long run.
not too concerned with the warranty and i can find all of the "help" they supply online if need be...but what kind of connectors would i need that typically doesnt come with it..

i was thinking of something like doing 6x8s all the way around since it seems like it would fit...and go with something like the rockfords that have the crossover and all that built in

what i do like about the rockfords particularly is that the tweeter is not taking up and of the woofer cone space. would there be a big quality difference if i were to do speakers like these as opposed to actual component sets?

btw the site is sonicelectronix which is pretty decent

Sonic is a decent site, I've purchased from there before when building systems for others.

If you want to reuse the factory speaker wires you'll need to adapt the harness or cut and terminate the wires yourself. The speaker may not be a perfect fit, and you won't know until you buy and try. If not, you'll need to fabricate a mounting adapter.

I also prefer speakers that don't have a large tweeter housing in front of the woofer, but components have a remote mounted tweeter pair to allow for more control over how the system will sound. You control your highs by proper placement and aiming of the tweeters. I don't like coax speakers since factory speaker aiming is usually poor.

"help" is detailed instructions and all the hardware you need to successfully complete the install the first time. Purchased separately, the included hardware resolves the cost difference. Sonic may sell the adapters as well, or may include them also.

I bring it up because after helping thousands of people, i see a trend that those that shop at Crutchfield don't end up asking dozens of questions nor spend weeks troubleshooting to get stuff installed properly.

I'd get the JL Audio C5-570 components for the fronts and call it a day, then save a bit more money and put a coaxial version of these in the rear. The C5 series are nice speakers and should be a head and shoulders better than most of budget speakers, and as bonus they come in 5x7 form factor (I _believe_ they should fit right in the 6x8 holes). If you can't afford these, there is also the C3 series which are cheaper. Perhaps you should find a JL Audio dealer and listen to both.

Otherwise, I wouldn't even look at the other available 5x7 components, and head instead to using round speakers with an adapter bracket. There aren't really many great 5x7/6x8 component systems available. Kudos for JL Audio and ID for making 5x7 comps.
