hey i am in the market for some interiors for my explorer i believe the fronts are 6.5 and the bakc are 6x9

i want the best COMPLETE component set ups i can find for my price range...i would like to get everything for under 250 bucks

i dont know much about component systems or exactly how the work or how to exactly hook it up properly so any important info about this is appreciated too im used to just having typical speaker sets connected to the deck.

i was looking at rockford t1 or t2 set ups that come with the crossovers (only because my main set up are t1s) BUT they are a little pricey just to keep it rockford i was considering alpine? also really like polk interiors

its a ford so it's probably 6x8s all the way around but lets say your right. I have a set of MB Quart 6x9 comps and MB Quart 6.5 comps, I have one set of passive crossovers and an active crossover (Audiocontrol 2XS crossed at 3kHz). $300 shipped for all if interested.

actually im having a lot of trouble figuring out just what it is...apprently these explodeders come stock with all different sizes of speakers

i dont know what mine is i dont want to take it apart just to find out if anyone can help

i have a 98 ford explorer sport.

people were talking about different generations of them and the OP was asking about the same vehical so a little confused

sorry guys

well i did some searching and this is what i found people saying

98 Speaker Size - Ford Explorer Ranger Enthusiasts "Serious Explorations"®

people mention 6x9 5x7 6.5 and all kinds of stuff really got me confused the fronts def appear to be smaller and round

but sorry its a little out of my range im very strict on my 250 limit as this is honestly more than i can afford but i am in desperate need for interiors ive finally blew all my crap stock ones lol

i can do $250 but you'd still need to get a set of passive crossovers for one of the sets.

Heres a pic of my old explorer if yours is same body style...

what i always do in fords, is make a quick thick cardboard cover or thin wood cover to cover the gaps on the sides and run 6.5 inch components, belive me you wount regret it.

not sure if it was asked yet are you using an external speaker amplifier? or hu power.

Polk Audio DXi570 5"x7"/6"x8" 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield.com

These 6x8 fit front and rear. $99 per set. Buy from Crutchfield and they will include wire harnesses, mounting adapters, instructions, etc.

Don't forget some closed cell foam weatherstripping to seal between the speaker and the door panel, just like the factory speakers do.

Anything other than 6x8 requires modification to fit. You don't seem to be capable of modifications on your own, no offense.
