component set or subs

i was wondering how much bass that a component set could produce. my stock speakers are great, they get loud but have no bass. i was wondering if i would judt be better off getting subs for now?

If you want bass, then go with subs.

Components arent really meant to give you bass- but rather "clear" sound.

umm i listen i would say 90% rock. i just want something right now that will bring out a good drum kick. i am gonna do both i just wondered which one i would benifit from the most, and do that first

subs can amplify the drum kick pretty much as long as its the correct frequency.

sometimes the bass guitar can be too low of a frequency and it could sound like garbage, it depends on the band, depends on the recording.

sometimes the bass kick is too high say around 70hz, and you want to amplify that with subs, youd get a lot of bass guitar there and itd sound like mud.

i low pass my subs at 50 hz, most bands sound amazing, while a couple just sound like a lot of humming.

i think you'd be really happy with it, but just know it really depends on the recording.
